Categories for 2018

UNDER 5'S  Parade

Dress like your favourite Frozen character and every entrant will receive a gift for parading.
(Gifts limited to the first 50 so please see your racebook for timing)

This is one of our biggest Kids Fashion in the Field categories for the pre-teens so dress in "race wear" and you could take out the title for the year

This one is for the big kids, so put on your best frock or best shirt and by sticking with the "race wear" theme for this year you could be Miss or Master Teen Otaki-Maori for the season

Food options

There are some great food outlets available for you to try on the day including all your old favourites, or you could just bring your own picnic and chill out with a great wine or a cold beer from one of the race-day bars (No BYO liquor though).

For those wanting to treat your family, friends, or colleagues to an even better day, there are exclusive Coast mini-marquee village options available starting from $400. For more information see below.

The Coast mini-marquee village

The Coast Mini Marquee Village sits on the lawn adjacent to the Members Stand with great views of the course.  The Village is fenced and exclusive for your enjoyment.  Mini Marquees are for 10 guests each. Multiple marquees may be purchased and we guarantee placement alongside each other with adjoining walls removed to provide a larger "space" for your guests.

Your day at Otaki includes:

  •    Course admission including parking and entry to The Coast mini-marquee village
  •    Your reserved 3m x 3m mini-marquee for 10 guests. If more than one marquee, connecting walls can be removed to provide a larger space for your guests
  • racebook, pen and bottle of water for each guest
  •    Table and 10 chairs per marquee
  •    Cash bar operates within the village
  •    Tote facilities and television screens close-by
  •    Self catering option

Following a particularly difficult period where a number of sheduled race meetings at Otaki were abandoned or transferred, the Otaki-Maori Racing Club decided that major ground work was required to reduce drainage issues and improve the track surface.

This work has been completed and they are waiting for the surface to improve to a standard that will allow racing again.

As at the 24th June, the first races back on the track are now scheduled to be on October 21st 2018 to ensure that the benefits from the ground renovations are maximised longer term.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.
