The Haunui Farm Group 1 Weight for Age (WFA) race run by the Otaki-Maori Racing Club was one of the highest rating races of last season throughout New Zealand and should be again in 2017!
The Otaki course provides a beautiful setting for racing or just having a great time with family and friends, and is less than an hours drive from both Wellington and Palmerston North.
With a live band performing in front of the public stand between races, this race day combines some of NZ's best racing with a great day out.
Once you are at the races, your biggest choice is likely to be whether to watch the racing from the public stand, or to grab yourself a spot on the grass in front of the home straight, so close to the action that you can actually feel the horses thunder by.
A great day to be at Otaki.
